"map_content": "i think you have to stop considering NFTs as unique works of art worth collecting seriously. \r\nfirst, the analogy never held, it was a mirage fueled by the bubbly idea that people were paying tens of thousands to collect these special items. no - the tens of thousands allegedly paid were part of the massive money flows traversing crypto, a nice alibi for a laundering routine. the jpgs were always just jpgs with metadata tacked on; and if MOMA bought a couple just to be on top, i assure you it won't become an important part of their collection. the mere fact of being inscribed in a blockchain does not appear to confer special semantic depth to a simple digital image.\r\nsecond, the important thing about a work of art is not that it is the first of its kind (great works are often not), nor that it is unique (great works are often not). \r\ntwonks were simply fun. they helped turn the messaging app into a game. people created hoopla around new collections, and others played along. you could set up one of your twonks as your profile pic; fun aesthetics evolved as a result. the app rewarded active users with twonk airdrops, which cost them nothing but promoted app engagement. \r\ni think that's it. townks made twetch feel like a game.",
