  "map_content": "Call me a fraud if you wish.\r\nCall me a liar.\r\nCall me delusional.\r\nCall me whatever makes you feel comfortable.\r\nThe interesting thing is that none of those words matter once the code exists.\r\nFor years, many people have focused on stopping me, discrediting me, attacking me, censoring me, misrepresenting me, and preventing anything I was working on from ever seeing the light of day.\r\nAt one stage that may have worked.\r\nAt one stage much of this existed only in my head, in notebooks, in designs, in unfinished code, in prototypes, in ideas that had not yet become reality.\r\nIdeas can be delayed.\r\nIdeas can be suppressed.\r\nIdeas can be ridiculed.\r\nWhat becomes much harder to stop is a working system.\r\nThis month the code goes public.\r\nNot a promise.\r\nNot a roadmap.\r\nNot a marketing presentation.\r\nCode.\r\nWorking systems.\r\nArchitectures.\r\nProtocols.\r\nImplementations.\r\nPeople will be free to inspect it, analyse it, criticise it, improve it, fork it, extend it, or ignore it.\r\nThat choice will belong to them.\r\nThe thing that many people seem unable to understand is that I am not asking anyone for money.\r\nI am not selling access.\r\nI am not selling licences.\r\nI am not selling permission.\r\nI am not creating a gatekeeper.\r\nI am releasing it.\r\nFree.\r\nThe irony is that this is the part many people will find hardest to believe.\r\nNot the cryptography.\r\nNot the distributed threshold systems.\r\nNot the digital possession model.\r\nNot the ability to create truly scarce digital goods.\r\nThe hardest thing for many people to understand is that after spending years building it, I am simply giving it away.\r\nAnd that is why it is already too late to stop.\r\nA secret can be suppressed.\r\nAn unpublished idea can be buried.\r\nA prototype can be hidden.\r\nA public implementation cannot be uninvented.\r\nOnce the code exists in the open, it belongs to history.\r\nFrom that point onward, the question is no longer whether it can be stopped.\r\nThe question becomes what the world chooses to build with it.\r\nWritten by S.
