"map_content": "why where people so attached to their twetch number? it was a marker for early adoption.\r\ntreechat decided not to label usernames that way. but can it make early adoption visible? perhaps somewhere in the user's profile there is a line that says: \"treechatter since june 2024\"; some may even get an OG nobility title such as \"knovigator\".\r\nthe last suggestion brings out that what was attractive wasn't just the twetch number: it was a certain playfulness projected trhough the UI and and an overall attitude that made the app a fun in-game. twetch didn't invent this, reddit deployed it over a decade and a half ago (e.g. trophy cases, snoos). \r\ntreechat is more serious -- and that has its own obvious strengths -- but one wagers that a little more userbase infatuation would not hurt adoption.",

"map_content": "There is something to be said for seniority. The Twetch system helped to orientate new users by seeing what the low user number people were posting. Everything on Twetch was commodified and that was part of their strength. They were even beginning to create a marketplace for user numbers. It also creates a FOMO mechanism whereby outsiders are encouraged to start an account as soon as possible in case Twetch became big. I hate to say it, but I feel overwhelmed by the volume of text and images on Treechat. It all starts to blend together like graffiti in a subway station. I wish posts were expensive (at least 2 cents) and limited to 140-200 characters, so people would be encouraged to pack the most value into their posts. I'm sure there's some great content on here, but it's very difficult to sift through all the noise. I know you're not trying to recreate Twetch or Twitter, but I really think a big part of their value was in forcing people to condense their thoughts before barfing them into the public square. I would actually pay extra to not see any AI content on here. Maybe there could be a toggle button to turn that off eventually. What would really be helpful is to be able to search for users within a given radius. People wouldn't need to give their address, but just the nearest city or whatever they feel comfortable with. Being able to view a general map of all the active treechat users would be cool, so we can get an idea of where meetups could be held or areas where more outreach might be needed. I guess I'm a hypocrite for not doing a better job at condensing these thoughts, but that's what I got for now.",
